Info

At Happy Go Lucky Mastiff Rescue, we are ready and willing to help with any reptile, invertebrate, exotic animal, amphibian, or fish in need of extra care or a new home.

  • No surrender fees: We never charge for animals brought to us.

  • No payment for surrenders: Please note, we do not pay individuals to surrender their animals.

  • Compassion first: If an animal is sick or injured, we will also accept them—we are a rescue for a reason.

  • Safety matters: Our quarantine procedures ensure the health and protection of all animals already in our care.

Surrendering

We understand that parting with a beloved pet can be heartbreaking. At Happy Go Lucky Mastiff Rescue (HGLMR), we will never judge you for the difficult decision to place your animal in our care. Life can be unpredictable, and sometimes circumstances leave us facing overwhelming challenges. Our goal is to make the surrender process as smooth as possible for everyone — especially your little friend.

If our own space or resources are limited, we will turn to our trusted network of partners to ensure your pet receives the help they need.

Helpful Tip: We strongly encourage you to provide the animal’s original enclosure, even if it’s not the right size. This helps minimize stress during the transition and may also be useful for housing other rescues. While not required, it can make a big difference given our limited resources.

Donations

We gratefully accept donations of all kinds to support the animals in our care. Supplies such as housing, climbing items, hides, vitamins, substrates, lights, heat pads, and decorative items are always needed and appreciated.

Our priority is to use these donations at our rescue first. If we’re unable to make use of them, we pay it forward by donating to other trusted rescues within our network.

For those who prefer to give directly, monetary contributions can be made easily by clicking the Donate button above. Every gift, big or small, makes a difference.

Adopting

When an animal in our care is ready to be re-homed, an adoption fee will apply. Fees typically range from $10–$250, depending on the species and the level of veterinary care the animal has received.

To ensure every pet is placed in a safe and loving home, our process includes:

  • An interview with potential adopters

  • A pre-adoption questionnaire to understand your experience and readiness

  • Adoption paperwork that confirms your commitment to providing proper care

These steps help us make sure each animal’s next chapter is a happy and healthy one.
